Installation of Solar Powered Wireless Security Camera

The Eye Trax cellular security camera system boasts two major features that allows for quick installation and cost effectiveness. Since the wireless motion activated camera utilizes the cellular network to transmit data back to our cloud based servers, there is NO need to supply an Internet connection that would typically require an End User to trench in cable, phone line, and power. All that is required is a cellular signal from any provider worldwide. Eye Trax will send your wireless outdoor surveillance camera with an active SIM card pre-installed and pre-configured to the cellular provider in your outdoor camera deployment area. Once the End User powers “ON” the wireless motion activated camera, it will immediately start-sending pictures to the cloud based servers, mobile phones, and email accounts.

Since the wireless outdoor security cameras are powered by a small 14in x 14in solar panel, trenching in power is not required. Most other outdoor ip camera systems require 110V power to be available because their system was not designed with the intent of utilizing solar energy. The Eye Trax solar powered security camera system will run indefinitely from the power supplied by the solar panel and the internal battery located inside the aluminum housing of the outdoor camera system. The only requirement is that the solar panel receives at least 6 hours of direct sunlight per day. If there is a period of time when the sun is obscured, the internal battery (if at full charge) will power the night vision security camera twenty-four hours a day for five consecutive days. An email warning notification will be sent out if the battery located inside the solar powered wireless security camera falls to a low level. The solar panel can be installed 115ft away from the solar wireless camera if needed for the direct sunlight requirements. Extension wires are available on the Products page.

The Eye Trax solar powered wireless security camera system can be installed in four easy steps:

  1. Mount: Install the outdoor camera and solar panel mounting brackets on a pole or flat surface using the self taping hardware provided.
  2. Aim: Point the night vision security camera at desired security coverage area. Aim the solar panel SOUTH and adjust the panel so that it is on a 45˚ angle.
  3. Power “ON”: Flip the toggle switch to the “ON” position.
  4. Verify: Use a mobile phone to verify that your outdoor wireless security camera is aimed properly, if not simply make small adjustments and verify again until satisfied with picture result.

For further details on installation of the solar powered security camera system refer to our User Guide that includes information on the web-based outdoor camera controls called the User Interface.

Eye Trax offers two accessories that makes installation of an outdoor camera mounting pole very quick and easy.

Barrel Mounting Pole

This patent pending design is for the End User who will be using the solar wireless security camera on a temporary basis. The design of this system is for quick installation and removal without the need of digging a hole. This allows for times when the outdoor camera needs to be re-located often. When the Barrel Mounting Pole system is filled with water it weighs nearly 500lbs and when it is empty is weighs only 25lbs! Being that it only weighs 25lbs, anyone can pick it up and easily move it to a different location. The Barrel Mounting Pole system can be filled with water through the top of the barrel with a garden hose and emptied out through the bottom through the spigot. This application is typically used on construction sites where a construction camera is needed in one location for a temporary basis. For more detailed information visit our products page.

Modular Mounting Pole

This outdoor camera mounting pole is a three piece design that joins together in minutes with just the use of a 9/16” wrench or pliers to tighten the bolts. This pole was design for semi-permanent applications. The bottom of the pole is buried 18” deep and is secured into the ground with an 80lb bag of concrete that can be found at any hardware store. Once the bottom portion is securely installed the two remaining sections simply bolt together to form a 12ft vertical pole. This is the optimum height when using the motion activated camera to detect humans or vehicles in the outdoor security camera’s field of view. The solar panel and outdoor camera mounting brackets simply screw onto the modular pole mounting plates with a Phillips head screw driver. For more detailed information visit our products page.
