Jobsite theft is a huge concern for most contractors. During the day and especially after hours at night jobsites are open markets for thieves to come and go unnoticed. Eye Trax construction cameras are manufactured with a standard PIR based motion sensor. PIR sensors measure changed in thermal temperature and not changes in pixels (most motion detecting cameras). It is very important to have a motion sensor that detects changes in thermal activity vs. changes in pixel change because the contractor is mainly concerned in viewing human activity and not the wind blowing trash or leaves on the trees. Human activity or vehicles will trigger the motion sensor because the sensor sees the heat that is given off by the human body or vehicle. When there is a human body on a jobsite after hours, this usually indicates there is activity that will concern the contractor.
The construction camera will detect the human body day or night and send images as quickly as every five seconds to the contractor’s mobile phone and/or email. The construction webcam is also equipped with Infrared Lights that are invisible to the human eye but will illuminate an area so that the camera lens will produce a high quality pictures for determination by the contractor. If the Contractor or Project Manager is only concerned about receiving a TXT alerts or emails from the jobsite camera after hours he/she has the option on the User Interface to activate this filter.
Construction has been an industry that has not evolved it’s method of jobsite security. Typically a construction manager would arrive to a jobsite and stay for a while and then move on to another jobsite or pick up materials. The invention of the solar powered construction site security camera has drastically changed the way a jobsite is monitored and construction efficiency.
